After a two year-long process, we are joining the growing roster of minority and women-owned businesses in New York State. With NYS continually advocating to increase opportunity and eliminate barriers for minority and women business owners the state has pressed their procurement process into action. A portion of every state contract must be filled by a certified MWBE.
New York State’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certification program promotes equal economic opportunities and eliminates barriers to minority- and women-owned businesses in state contracts.
New York State leads the nation in the development of one of the largest public directories of and in awarding the highest dollar value of contracting opportunities to MWBEs. The long application process vets the business by examining previous contracts, the ownership structure, its finances, and tax returns, including the owner’s net worth, among other things.
